There are already more dystopian novels and movies than I'll be able to read and watch in my lifetime.
But aside from "Yellow Submarine", where the Blue Meanies mess up Pepperland, aren't there ANY other books or movies in which the villain tries to wreck a picture-perfect world, instead of the usual worn-out storyline of some hero trying (and usually failing) to make a change, or at least carve out an enclave, in a dystopian world?
One reason why I wonder about this is because a central theme that runs through my fiction is that while you might be the most powerful control freak in the universe, there are some things that aren't yours to control. Yeah, not exactly the ideal message to be sending to anyone in any kind of authority... but that's me...

firewallflower: The irony is that I wouldn't actually be on AVEN now if the site were functioning, but since it's down, I feel compelled to keep checking for any change. I should, however, go to bed—and will do so.

firewallflower: Keep calm and carry on and send good thoughts towards whatever tech people are working on this, I guess? And in the meantime, cake.
