Well, not really... but it sure feels that way to me. Home Depot FINALLY started stocking LED bulbs in neutral white, and they're less expensive than the ones available online to boot.
I don't like warm white lighting because it looks to mawkishly sentimental, and cool white looks too creepy.
Update: I had to give $60 for it, but I saw a new LED ceiling fixture at Home Depot, liked it so much I bought it and installed it, and it does a better job of lighting up my kitchen (burning only 24 watts) than the fluorescent one did.
I also changed out the CFLs in my dining room and living room in favor of the neutral white LED bulbs cited above, and the new LED bulbs light those rooms up better than the old CFLs, and they burn even less power. My old 60w equivalent CFLs burned 14w a pop, these new LED bulbs are rated at 10w each. The living room has 4 bulbs and the dining room has 3, so the energy savings are WAY more than the old incandescents. And because all of my new LED lights are neutral white (except for the night lights), there's no clash between warm and cool.
I'm on my way to converting my home to all-LED lighting.

firewallflower: The irony is that I wouldn't actually be on AVEN now if the site were functioning, but since it's down, I feel compelled to keep checking for any change. I should, however, go to bed—and will do so.

firewallflower: Keep calm and carry on and send good thoughts towards whatever tech people are working on this, I guess? And in the meantime, cake.
