So. Proboards. When you sign up, they insist you pick a gender. I went with male because it was the first on the list and my mouse was therefore closest to it. But as I am agender, and rather uncomfortable with being gendered at all, I would really prefer that that little blue symbol not be sitting there staring me in the face (and I can't be the only one one on here who feels that way). I have seen other members who do not appear to have a symbol next to their post count here, so I presume there is a way to either leave the field blank (it will not let me do so now) or have it not shown. Anyone know how to go about doing this?
That's the same thing I did- select male. I'm agender as well, and I wasn't about to select female just because I have a vagina. It is uncomfortable being gendered, isn't it?
Precisely. And yes, it most certainly is... thank goodness the board does let one leave the symbol out! Given the choice if I absolutely had to go with one, I'd probably be a tad less uncomfortable with male, but only a tad, and still far from comfortable. So thanks again to kelico.

I selected female because I thought it mattered, but I guess it doesn't. Either way I chose not to show gender. I made my avatar this way anyway so people can think whatever. But yeah, I think if there were more options, it'd be nice.
firewallflower: The irony is that I wouldn't actually be on AVEN now if the site were functioning, but since it's down, I feel compelled to keep checking for any change. I should, however, go to bed—and will do so.

firewallflower: Keep calm and carry on and send good thoughts towards whatever tech people are working on this, I guess? And in the meantime, cake.
