I thoroughly enjoyed this article. The author didn't invalidate asexuality in any way, and they even suggested to the reader that they could apply certain aspects of our own movement to their own relationships, therefore establishing a connection between sexuals and asexuals - which, might I add, is necessary because as the article stated, we were often stigmatized - and making it easier to the sexual readers to relate to us. Thanks for sharing!
I have a feeling that zed was referring to the Stonewall riots in June of 1969 that were seen as a response to the constant harassment and persecution that the gay community had to contend with in the form of raids. It was the spark that lit the fire for what we now know as the gay rights or LGBT movement. I too hope for our stonewall moment, in that I hope we find something to draw the world's attention. This was a good article and is a great step in that direction

Thylacine - good to see you, tassie tiger! The latest news is more positive, the registered person can now be contacted by the old-site owners, so it's looking like migration has more chance of happening this side of New Years!

blomdor: Hope everyone is well out there. Looks like AVEN's borked. Again.

firewallflower: The irony is that I wouldn't actually be on AVEN now if the site were functioning, but since it's down, I feel compelled to keep checking for any change. I should, however, go to bed—and will do so.

firewallflower: Keep calm and carry on and send good thoughts towards whatever tech people are working on this, I guess? And in the meantime, cake.
