Most of my job requires the internet or some other kinds of electronic data transfer. The job would still exist without that, but it would be harder and with more errors to deal with. Most of my communication is through the internet or text messaging, which I'd imagine wouldn't exist without the internet, so I'd have to go back to awkward phone calls and I don't like those :/
I would read more, I'd imagine, and maybe listen to the radio instead of streaming music and podcasts. I'd probably write more too.
I was raised without most technology in the backwoods of the rural rockies. Where we had to chop firewood to stay warm in the winter, and actually talk to people face to face. Where community mattered, and people were not concerned about anything outside of it. Our biggest qualm was being able to get music to play out of the car's stereo or a portable stereo we would use as we traveled about. Camping, fishing, off-roading. You name it, we had our music.
'Twas a simpler time, and I miss it quite a bit. If the internet suddenly vanished the next day, it would probably motivate me to do the things I used to enjoy and get outside more. People would be more happy in general, because technology stops you from actually interacting with people in a healthy way. If the internet disappeared. I am sure you would be able to relate to your parents and other adults from before your generation. It will expand your horizons in a more local, useful way.
Internet has helped a lot of people in today’s world. If it shuts down, it is going to create a hazardous situation. Like now we take help of online or Adwords Marketing for business promotions. If the internet is gone, we will be going back to the time promotions were done door to door.

firewallflower: The irony is that I wouldn't actually be on AVEN now if the site were functioning, but since it's down, I feel compelled to keep checking for any change. I should, however, go to bed—and will do so.

firewallflower: Keep calm and carry on and send good thoughts towards whatever tech people are working on this, I guess? And in the meantime, cake.
